Schedulo Bus 1.0.18

The whole program as a web page, clearer break rules, and Optimise cuts the vehicles again.

Schedulo Bus as a web page

The whole program now also runs as a web page, at bus.schedulo.uk. The planning, the licence check and the files are the desktop app's own code, run in the browser, so nothing of your planning is sent to a server.

  • Your companies are kept in the browser on that computer. Files are saved with the browser's Save As window and opened with its Open window.
  • The same licence keys work. A key can be locked to one browser with the code on its activation screen.
  • Working together joins the web page and the desktop app both ways, with the same join codes, encrypted end to end.

Clearer break rules

  • Duty Breaks in Preferences shows when a break is required: the longest driving before a break, the longest piece, the break that resets the driving and when a layover counts, each linked to the page that sets it.
  • A layover counts as a break from a length you choose. A shorter layover is standing time.
  • Pieces at most, before a break: the longest a piece of work may be. Optimise cuts none longer. It is off unless you switch it on.

Fixed

  • Optimise cuts the vehicles again. A bus standing between the peaks can go back to the depot and come out for a later trip, as a planner does by hand, so the day needs no more buses than it should.
  • A trip cut part way can be joined again, even when the relief point has a long name.
  • Working together from the web page keeps trying to reach the relay, and says why when it can't.

Also new since 1.0.16

Schedulo Bus 1.0.17 (1 November) brought 15-minute lines on the schedule and on the bus and crew graphs, Duty Targets in Preferences, and an Optimise that looks for the best plan rather than the first one that fits, relieving drivers part way through trips.

Getting the update: clients can download Schedulo Bus 1.0.18 from the client area, where the Updates page lists every change.
